Record who came in and control room entry
Without a record at the door, attendance is a guess, limited-capacity rooms overfill, and the person who was not supposed to be in the workshop is already sitting down. Staff improvise, and the data never reaches the report.
Every event and session check-in and check-out is recorded on the attendee's registration. Each session carries its own capacity and door policy, so staff at the room know whether to deny, add or register the person in front of them.
What you can do with Check-in & Session Access
Event and session check-in
Check people in at the event door and again at each session, with check-out when you need it. Each check-in sits on the registration and in the guest list's check-in history.
Door policy per session
Decide what happens when someone not registered for a session scans at the door: deny entry, register them automatically, or let staff add them by hand. Set it per session, not once for the event.
Capacity enforced at the door
Give each session a capacity and check-in enforces it once the session is full. Ticket rules decide who may register for a session in the first place, including a cap on sessions per ticket.
One code, every door
Every ticket carries one code for the event, so the same scan works at the entrance, at each session door and in the exhibitor lead capture app. Choose standard QR, vCard, Code 128 or PDF417.
Alerts when key people arrive
Email your team when a specific guest or anyone on a chosen ticket type checks in, at the event door or a session, so hosts are ready to greet them. Needs the email add-on.
Attendance that reaches the report
Follow arrivals on the event dashboard during the day, then run check-in and session attendance reports now or on a schedule. A no-code automation can also pass each check-in to your other tools; ask us which plan includes it.
In practice
A medical congress runs limited-seat workshops in two rooms. Each workshop has a capacity and a deny door policy, so only people registered for it get in, while the plenary is set to auto-register anyone who scans. The team gets an email when the keynote speaker checks in, and a scheduled session attendance report is emailed to the organizing team the morning after.
Availability and limits
Each plan includes a default check-in allowance per event, and a contract can set a different one; check-ins and session attendance draw on your organization's credits.
Session check-in, session door policies and session capacity need session management (ask us which plan includes it), plus the sessions switch on the event.
Check-in notification emails need the email add-on.

Check-in & Session Access questions
Staff scan the attendee's code at the room. Anyone registered for the session is checked in. Anyone else is handled by the rule you set for that session, either turned away, added automatically or left for staff to add, and capacity is enforced either way.
The event dashboard shows check-ins and what's happening now, and each registration in the guest list carries its check-in history. Use check-out to record who has left. For a file, build an event check-in or session attendance report and run it now or on a schedule.
With a quick scan at the event entrance and at each session door: staff or kiosks scan the attendee's ticket code, or look up their name, and each check-in or check-out is recorded as it happens. Event check-in keeps going if the venue Wi-Fi drops and syncs once the connection is back. It is all scan-based, so there are no RFID tags or beacons to hand out.
Yes. Check-in notification emails watch a single person or a whole ticket type, for event check-ins, session check-ins or both. Set the recipients, the message, and whether to repeat the alert or include check-outs. This needs the email add-on.
