Ask the right questions of the right people
One form that asks everyone everything produces half-empty answers, dietary needs lost in a notes field, and a networking directory that shows the phone numbers people never meant to share.
Each question goes only to the tickets that need it, a follow-up appears only after the answer that triggers it, and you decide who sees each answer: your team, kiosk staff, exhibitors or other attendees.
What you can do with Custom Registration Questions
Four simple question types
Use single or multiple choice where you need clean answers for reports, text where people need room, and date for things like arrival day, with help text and a form order you set.
Questions per ticket type
Attach a question to all tickets or only to selected ones, so exhibitor staff answer booth questions and students confirm their institution without anyone seeing an irrelevant field.
One-level conditional follow-ups
Show a child question only when a chosen answer calls for it, such as an access detail after a yes. Logic is one level deep, which keeps forms predictable.
Control where answers appear
Choose per question and profile field where it is hidden, visible, read-only or required, so dietary needs stay with your team while company and job title show in the directory and exhibitor view.
Searchable and vCard-ready
Make an answer searchable in the networking directory, and map answers to vCard contact fields when the event's ticket code is a vCard, so a scan carries the right details.
In practice
A trade conference asks exhibitor staff for their booth number and everyone else for dietary needs, shows an allergy detail only after a yes, and keeps phone numbers hidden in the directory while job titles stay searchable.
Availability and limits
Custom registration questions are on every plan.
Custom question answers cannot be used as merge fields in emails.
Conditional logic is one level deep: a question can show child questions.

Your registration questions answered
Yes. Attach the question to selected ticket types and set it to required there; other tickets never see it. The same visibility settings apply to the standard profile fields, so you can, for example, require a company name on the registration page and keep phone numbers hidden in the networking directory.
Yes. Registration reports in the Report Builder can include custom question columns, which you can filter, sort and schedule to your team. Custom question columns depend on the form-field add-on.
You decide per question. Set it visible or required on the kiosk when staff need it for a walk-up, or hidden when they do not. The kiosk can also be set up to let people edit their details at check-in.
Yes, where you allow it. In the attendee portal's My profile, attendees can change answers you set to visible and see, but not change, read-only ones. Your team can correct any answer from the guest list.
